NoVA ASPMN HAPPENINGS
Chapter Minutes

Location: Reston Hospital
Time 6:30- 8:30PM
Attendance: Regina Stiles, gerry Higgins, Florence Mooney-Cotter, Michelle Jacques
Excused: Judy Jenkins

The focus of this meeting was to determine a direction and path for the NoVA Chapter of ASPMN to grow, complete our Chapter Annual Report and review our Community Outreach Program.
The Community Outreach Program was a great success and we are in the process of modifying some of the content based upon feedback from attendees.   When completed, we will have a complete program for presenting by any of our members who are interested.  Please let us know if you have a group that could benefit from learning how to be their own best advocate.
Our meeting format will be changing in the new fiscal year.  With continued low turnout for meetings, we are going to focus on fewer meetings but with more CEU and content.  Look to the future for 1/2 day and full day conferences this year rather than 4 one hour sessions.  Our Business meetings will continue as per usual.  OUr next meeting will be in Minneapolis at our National Conference, Sept 25th @5:30. Meeting place is TBD.
Our Chapter report is due by the end of July.  Please submit your accomplishments to us before July 25th.

Presidents Message
Summer June 6, 2010

HELLO VIRGINIA!

Summer is here in full force – heat and humidity.  The sticky days of fun in the sun are coming.   I hope that you are able enjoy the fun filled days ahead!

NoVA ASPMN is still active, but less so in the summer time, so we too can enjoy our families in celebration.  Your chapter has been busy growing and expanding our horizons.  We hope to draw more people to join us in our efforts.

You will be receiving a new survey as you renew your membership for the coming year.  We want, and need, to know what we can do to generate a buzz in the Chapter.  We have members, as members; we have members, who are active; and we have people who do not even know that they want to join our great group of people!  So, what can we do to get you excited or get you to be a part of the group and share your ideas for growth and education? Give us some input so we can be the Chapter you need.
